Frequently Asked Questions

What does a forensic evaluation typically involve?
Forensic evaluations involve psychological assessments conducted for legal or court-related matters. These may include competency evaluations, risk assessments, parenting capacity assessments, or other court-involved psychological evaluations. Our role is to provide objective, evidence-based findings.
How much do forensic evaluations typically cost?
The price for forensic evaluations vary based on the services, the volume of records, and the time required to complete the evaluation. There is a flat rate and a retainer fee for more complex evaluations. Please reach out for a consultation to determine a fee estimate. Forensic evaluations are never covered by insurance and will require out-of-pocket payment.
What is the purpose of a psychological assessment?
When someone is having emotional, relational, behavioral, or social problems, it can be related to a number of complex stressors. Psychological assessments help to identify the cause of symptoms, determine a correct diagnosis, and identify the proper course of treatment.  It can also be particularly helpful in differentiating between similar disorders, multiple diagnoses, and complicated symptoms.
What does the process for clinical assessment look like?
Clinical assessments  typically involve a clinical interview, in-person testing sessions (usually between 1 and 3 sessions lasting several hours), consultation, and review of relevant records. A comprehensive report is then written that includes background information, results from testing, diagnosis, and specific recommendations/resources tailored to the individual.
