Forensic Evaluations
Forensic evaluations refer to psychological assessments conducted specifically for individuals involved in civil or criminal court. Individuals may be asked by a judge to complete an evaluation to address a concern or answer a specific question. Other times, an individual may wish to seek an evaluation on their own to present to the court to help their case.

Occasionally, there are specific psycho-legal questions that the judge would like to be addressed. These evaluations can include competency to stand trial, not guilty by reason of insanity, bonding, and questions regarding mitigation or sentencing. Sometimes, the court simply wants to rule out any mental health issues that could impact their decision, or to receive psychological/treatment recommendations to assist with
their rulings.
